Superman | DOOMSDAY Movie

POINT 1
Depending on what series, comic or movie you're watching Lex Luthor's "hatred" of Superman manifests itself in may ways. In the recently released animated movie Superman | Doomsday Lex's attitude towards Superman seems less and less like loathing and more and more like sadistic admiration and jealousy. In the very beginning of the Doomsday movie, Luthor is just looking at video footage of Superman on a giant flat screen alone. As he watches the footage he says:
LUTHOR: Just look at him.
So sleek, so powerful ...so ...beautiful.
Like some great golden god made flesh.
I don't think I need to say anything more about that.

POINT 2
Now as much as Luthor is supposed hate Sups, you'd think he'd be overjoyed that Sups finally met his bloody end. But no. He's depressed to the point of distraction He sits in a room alone brooding.
LUTHOR: Taken before his time... so completely...absurd. Random!
MERCY: Oh come one Lex. I figured you'd be stoked he's finally gone. Isn't this what you wanted?

POINT 3
Not only is he sad about Sups death, he goes as far as to clone him, then put a chip in his brain so that he only knows what he's programed to know and bows to Lex's every whim. He even has boastful one sided conversations with Superman's preserved body. Super creepy.

POINT 4
Then when he gets out of line or when ever he feels like it, Luthor drags him into a room with red solar lamps to weaken him. Then Lex strolls in wearing kryptonite gloves and no shirt and beats the shit out of him. All while saying:
Why did you leave me!? WHY!?
We had so much unfinished business!
Who's your daddy?

POINT 5
When the cloned superman revolts, Lex lures him back into the red solar lamp room.
LUTHOR:Superman... you've been a very, very bad boy.
I might have to mess up that pretty face of yours.
