. SUPERMAN . AKA: Clark Kent. Open, honest, trusting, boy scout, farmer, "world's greatest hero," man's man type.

"Public Enemies" was based on Superman/Batman comics 1-7 roughly. If you've read any of my Bats x Sups "evidence," then you already know how surprisingly bromantic the comic was (and is). The movie is actiony and quite faithful to the source material with a few changes for the sake of condensing the plot.

POINT 1
There's a scene where Luthor in an epic twist shows Superman he can't be trusted and a battle between he and Metallo breaks out. Metallo having a Kryptonite core gives Superman a very hard time. Batman, pulling a classic Vegeta, backflips into the fight to rescue him. But as the minutes tick by, who's saving whom is never quite clear.

Of course, being a movie and having to move the plot along (and to tone down the yaoi), creators decided to omit all the inner monologues about how much they worry about each other when these sort of fights break out.

POINT 2 SPOILERS!!
There are a few cute moments between the two of them throughout the movie. In one scene Batman & Superman go to investigate the crime Superman is accused of ironicaly by breaking & entering into Starr Labs.

I love the fact that Batman does not approve of Superman & Lois' relationship.

POINT 3 SPOILERS!!
At the climax of the movie, the only way to save the Earth from being destroyed by a Kryptonite meteor, Batman takes it upon himseelf to fly Toyman's ridiculous rocket into it. If you've seen the movie Armageddon with Bruce Willis I'm sure you know what he had in mind. Superman takes his imminent death about as well as you'd expect. He also spends the next 10 minutes of the movie beating on Luthor like a hooker who owed him money.

POINT 4 MAJOR SPOILERS!!
After seeing the meteor explode, Superman is sure all hope is lost, until Power Girl informs him there's still a slim chance Batman's alive. The look on his face was sweet & priceless.
